About Our Teachers:
Mark Prator

Mark has an extensive touring, performing and studio recording background. After leaving Autodrive in the early 1990′s Mark began working as a recording engineer for Morrisound Recording Studio in Tampa. Since then, he has earned a reputation for his work as an engineer, drummer, and producer. He has recently toured with Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. He has also toured and performed with former White Lion front man, Mike Tramp and Scottish neo-prog legend Fish. Additional Drumming credits include Iced Earth, KMFDM, and solo artist John Wesley (touring guitarist for Porcupine Tree).
Mark is a sought-after session drummer and has performed on many album, commercial, and demo projects (see Mark’s Wikipedia page!). In addition to his work as a musician, Mark has received producer credit for a long list of band’s albums, including Tampa based metal band, Obituary.
Kevin Dennis

Kevin knew from a very early age that he was destined to make drumming his career. Beginning private lessons in the 5th grade, Kevin studied with Frank Adams formerly with “Paul Whiteman”. He then went on to get his B.A. in percussion performance at the Univ. of South Florida, and while in college the opportunities grew by leaps and bounds. Kevin’s thorough knowledge of all styles of percussion has made him a staple in the bay area since the early 70′s. Studies of African culture and drumming gave Kevin the opportunity to create an authentic West African group at Busch Gardens, and this influence has permeated his drumming style.
He has toured with Jim West and Steve Jay, members of “Weird Al” Yancovic’s group, and was one of the founding members of Mythril, a classic USF-based group in the 70′s under composition professor Hilton Jones. This collaboration resulted in the development of Sycom Studios at USF, recording at Miami’s famed Criteria Studios in Miami under engineer Karl Richardson, an offer from EPIC Records, and the band’s friendship with mentor Chick Corea and “Return To Forever”.
Symphonic credits include – 1st chair percussionist for the Florida West Coast Symphony, Gulf Coast Symphony (now Florida Orchestra), Arthur Fiedler, Mitch Miller, Skitch Henderson and more. Kevin has since recorded with David Muse from Firefall, performed with The Spanish Lyric Theatre…and most notably performed as sole percussionist with Ray Charles’ Orchestra on Florida performances. His most recent group, a new-age trio called Dagari, warmed up the crowd before a Yanni performance.
Kevin brings to the table his vast experience and love for teaching any and all percussion instruments.
